Iris sibirica 'Double Standards' is a 2000 introduction from Michigan's Ensata Gardens. The deciduous Iris sibirica 'Double Standards' emerges in spring with foliage that serves as a foil to the 34" tall flowers spikes. This mid-season bloomer is topped with dense, rich violet blue flowers with double the normal number of upright petals (standards). The contrasting eye zone is a mix of dusty yellow and white with violet veining. In NC, flowering begins in late April. Average to moist soils are best.
