    This dwarf Japanese native iris is a splendid gem for a small picturesque spot in the woodland rock garden. The narrow grassy like foliage makes a tight 20" wide x 6" tall mound, topped in April and May (NC) with light lavender that are held on thin 10" tall arching stems just above foliage. Iris gracillipes prefers a dry lightly shaded to partially sunny site for best results. Very cute!
