We are pleased to finally share the lovely, but rarely encountered white form of the Chinese/Japanese native Indigofera decora for the first time. Our plants are propagated from the old Bernheim Arboretum plants, installed by the late plantsman Buddy Hubbuch. Kentucky plantsman Allen Bush, who shared cuttings, says his 20-year old patch is 3-4' wide. Like the more typical pink-flowered form, Indigofera decora forms a slowly spreading 2' tall x 4' wide, winter-deciduous patch of pinnate foliage, that's adorned, starting for us in early April with 6" long branched panicles of white flowers...truly elegant in either light shade or part sun.
