(USPP 12,663 expired) Discovered in Holland, Hosta 'Karin' is a reverse mutation of the wonderful Hosta 'Twilight', which itself is a tetraploid mutation of Hosta 'Fortunei Aureomarginata'. The very dark black-green foliage is surrounded by a wide creamy gold border. The 3' wide clumps are topped in mid-summer with stalks of light lavender flowers.
