Hosta 'Curly Fries', from Bob Solberg's breeding program, caused a lot of stir with its amazingly ruffled, narrow, golden leaves. This 2016 Hosta of the Year forms a 6" tall x 16" wide small clump of dense foliage. Keep in mind that most catalog photos are of young plants grown in small pots. When Hosta 'Curly Fries' is grown in the ground, the intensity of the waviness decreases and the width of the leaves increases...still nice, but very different from the photos of immature plants.
