(aka: H. mutabilis 'Rubrum') This wonderful mallow is often mis-labeled, but no less wonderful despite the name. The foliage resembles H. mutabilis, but instead of only flowering in the fall, this mallow consistently produces 6" rosy red flowers throughout the summer on this 6-7' tall grower. Although it is a good bit hardier than H. mutabilis, it will still die to the ground in the colder regions of zone 8. In regions from zone 9 south, the stems will remain woody and the plant could reach 15' in height.
