We got our original seed from Steve Stroupe at Davis Creek, who received them as a pink-flowered strain of H. coccineus. Our plants are cutting-grown from the best selection. The foliage is similar to H. coccineus (maple-like and glossy). The stems are a vivid, deep dark purple, and the flowers are a rich pinkish-red. This narrow, upright grower is an outstanding addition to any perennial border...visitors who see it in our garden can't leave without one...it's really that good!
