When visiting Klehm Nursery in 1998, I was stunned by one of Roy Klehm's seedlings. The small clumps resembling H. 'Happy Returns' had nice orange-yellow flowers on sturdy stems, but the most striking features were the dark black scapes and black tinted flower buds...WOW! Despite starting to flower in midsummer, it is our best re-bloomer and is still going strong in mid-to-late October. I guess I'm not into daylilies for flower shows, but for my garden, this was my choice.
