    The thick, deciduous, hand-like foliage serves as a nice foil to the new flower stalks of dozens of 1" apple-green flowers that begin appearing in late winter. The flowers last from February through May for us. A well-established clump is a spectacular accent in the winter garden. This wild collection of H. viridis was made by Will McLewin in the Piemont section of Italy, north of Roasio.
