    This is the vigorous, superb New Zealand selection of the much sought-after Christmas rose, which for us is topped with masses of large pure white flowers around Christmas time. The foliage on this selection is a very dark glossy green compared with typical H. niger. Some researchers believe that the increased vigor may be due to the theory that this is a hybrid with H. orientalis, showing only the outward appearance of H. niger.
