From the garden of the late Greensboro, NC, plantswoman Nell Lewis comes this extremely vigorous seed strain of the legendary Christmas rose, Helleborus niger. Perhaps the most amazing thing about this strain is that many of the seedlings flower the first year from seed...an unheard of trait in the genus Helleborus. From the large, glossy, dark green leaves arise 8" tall stalks of large pure white flowers beginning around January in NC. Helleborus niger must have good drainage and dry soils.
