(aka: H. orientalis hybrids) If I could grow only one perennial in my shade garden, this would be it. The plasticized glossy green foliage emerges from a basal clump and is evergreen in most climates. The 15" tall x 24" wide clumps are topped with wonderful flower stalks of 1" flowers from late winter through spring. Since these are seed grown, the flower color could range from white to red, to deep lavender... one of the most choice and durable (deer resistant) of all perennials!
