(aka. Helleborus lividus corsicus) Helleborus argutifolius is an upright lenten rose that actually has a visible stem unlike the more commonly grown stemless species. Each 18" stem is clothed with soft spiny three-lobed leaves. In late winter and early spring, the clumps are topped with clusters of light green flowers. This lenten rose flowers on the old stems, so don't cut it back until after flowering...it will self seed if you don't remove all of the old flower stalks.Corsian lenten rose must have a well drained site to perform its best.
