Gladiolus 'Lilac and Chartreuse' is a superb Baer introduction from the 1960s, before breeders manage to eliminate winter hardiness from their new introductions. The 3-4' tall flower stalks emerge for us in early June with amazing bicolor flowers of light lavender and creamy yellow... think tie-dyed t-shirts... another remnant of the 1960s. Gladiolus 'Lilac and Chartreuse' has been a stellar performer and reliably winter hardy in our trials. Who knows how much colder they will stand without required fall digging.
