Foeniculum vulgare 'Arnold'

The seed for this giant selection of bronze fennel was supplied by Rudy Keller of Temple University from a single parent specimen that reached a dramatic 8' tall. Imagine, an 8' tall bronze giant with a strong odor in your garden. Does that fulfill your wildest fantasy or what? The huge upright clump of fragrant feathery black foliage is topped with yellow yarrow-like flowers in late summer. It's getting harder to be less objective when writing about cool plants.
