(aka: E. polychroma) For a golden touch in the spring garden, it's hard to beat this native to Southern Europe...Greece to the Ukraine. Each 2' wide x 2' tall clump is comprised of finger-sized green leaves, topped in April and May with flattened heads of golden yellow flowers. E. epithymoides naturalizes well in the garden, so don't plant it around smaller, defenseless babies. If you get too much, simply cut the plant to the ground after flowering.
