This spectacular Heronswood introduction was discovered as a seedling in Sally Johannsohn's garden in Hobart, Tasmania, in 1998. The upright 3' tall stems are clothed with blue foliage edged in creamy white. The large golden flower heads that top the plant in summer are also variegated white. Good drainage is essential in having success with this plant. We see this often listed as hardy to Zone 5 but feel that these authors must be referring to inside heated greenhouses in Zone 5.
