    E. hyssopifolium seemingly has as its sole purpose in life to be mowed down by the Department of Transportation. The Hyssop Leaf Joe Pye Weed is a splendid native that we feel needs to be grown more...intentionally! The upright stems are clothed with narrow fine textured leaves that occur in whorls up the stem. In late summer, the clumps are topped with millions (we used Louis Farrakhan's count) of small white flowers...fabulous when blended with gold flowers in the perennial border!
