This great, drought-tolerant garden perennial is native from Connecticut south to Florida, where it is found in thickets and open prairies...a similar habitat to junked cars. This offering is from a population in Newton Co., Arkansas, and boasts very wide, blue leaves compared to some forms that have very narrow foliage. In the garden, E. yuccifolium forms a compact clump that is topped with 30" tall flower spikes of tan, alien-like flowers in late summer.
