This always popular Japanese hybrid (E. diphyllum x E. grandiflorum) makes a great specimen for the woodland garden. In early spring, the tight deciduous clumps of heart-shaped, light green leaves (tinted purple-brown when young) are topped with masses of 10" stalks of dainty, white, bell-shaped flowers...great for massing in the woodland garden.
