This new coneflower from Richard Saul of Itsaul Plants combines the best of E. purpurea and E. paradoxa into a selection that is topped, starting in June, with large 4.5 - 5" wide fragrant heads of bright orange, fragrant blooms on 30" stems. The lush basal rosette of wide green foliage and dark flower stems serve as a nice foil to the prolific flower display...thanks to an abundance of side-flower buds. In cool climates, the flowers may have a unique lavender cast as they age.
