Calling Echinacea 'Art's Pride' a breakthrough is like calling Ted Kennedy a bit left of center. This amazing coneflower comes from the breeding program of Dr. Jim Ault of the Chicago Botanic Garden. The lack of summer orange in the garden has been cured with E. 'Art's Pride'. Each 2' wide clump of slender green foliage is topped starting in late June and continuing through the summer with 30" bouquet-like spikes of rustic-orange flowers. To see it is to fall in lust...I mean love...all over again! Remember that good drainage is recommended for all echinaceas.
