(aka: D. kinkiensis 05CH004) Dryopteris kinkiensis (love the name) is a little-known, beautifully evergreen Asian fern that has become one of our favorite ferns in the garden. Dryopteris kinkiensis is related to Dryopteris championii and forms a stunning clump, composed of very wide dark green fronds. Although slow-growing, Dryopteris kinkiensis is quite easy to grow when planted in an evenly moist soil, eventually forming a 2' tall x 2' wide deer-resistant clump. This Plant Delights/JLBG introduction is spore-propagated from original spore collected by Hans Hansen in Guizhou, China.
