Disporum smilacinum 'Ki Naka Fu' is a prized, variegated Japanese selection of the Asian fairy bells that makes a lovely woodland specimen. It spreads gently through the garden to interweave with ferns, hostas, and other woodland plants. The 8" tall stalks that arise from the below ground rhizome are clothed with golden leaves, edged with small green streaks. The small, white star-like flower tops the foliage in early spring. Do not confuse this with the faster spreading, more aggressive, Disporum sessile.
