Disporum smilacina 'Aureovariegata' is a fabulous selection of the deciduous Japanese fairy bells that makes a superb specimen in the woodland garden, where it slowly forms into a dense woodland groundcover. Each 8" tall stalk is clothed with medium-green leaves, each surrounded by a golden margin. Disporum smilacinum 'Aureovariegata' is adorned in late April (NC) with attractive, small, creamy-white, star-shaped flowers that seem to float just above the foliage. This is a rare opportunity to purchase a true collector's plant that also has excellent garden merit.
