    This Balkan native has long been a favorite in our garden, and finally enough visitors have demanded that we share it with you. D. giganteus grows from a green needle like basal rosette... no more than a few inches wide. In late May and June, these tiny rosettes burst forth with 3' flowering stems adorned at the top with hundreds of tiny 1/2" wide pinkish purple flowers. In good soils, this great see-through perennial will seed around making dozens of wonderful combinations.
