We are thrilled to offer this late David Salman collection of green sotol from one of the coldest sites in the Guadalupe Mountain range where Dasylirion leiophyllum is known to exist...a solid cold Zone 5 location in Chaves County, New Mexico at 5,450' elevation. In 1962, this region recorded -24 degrees F...that's cold! Additionally this area also receives summer monsoons, so those of us looking for wet tolerant southwest plants, this is a dream come true. The architectural 4' tall x 5' wide green rosettes are composed of spiny-edged, long green leaves, and when mature, topped by 12' spikes of tan flowers that resemble torches made from oatmeal.
