Daphne 'Perfume Princess' PP 27,662

(aka: Daphne DapJur01) Daphne 'Perfume Princess' is a new release from New Zealand magnolia breeder Mark Jury. This cross of the lovely Daphne odora with the Himalayan Daphne bholua is a flowering machine, adorned from mid-winter through spring with a profusion of flowers, produced both terminally as well as from spike-like wands. Like Daphne odora, the flowers are deliciously fragrant, but with an undertone of citrus. Compared to Daphne odora, the bright pink flowers are larger, more abundant, and produced over a longer period of time. The compact plants eventually mature at 3' tall x 3' wide. Daphne 'Perfume Princess' is very new to commerce, so we are trying it for the first time in our region and only have a few to share with other experimental gardeners. As with all daphnes, well-drained soils are needed.
