Plant Delights/JLBG were thrilled to introduce this amazing compact form of the southeast US (Delaware south to Florida) native small tree, Cyrilla racemiflora in 2021. Cyrilla 'Tom Patrick' was discovered as a witch's broom mutation by Ron Determann of the Atlanta Botanical Garden and the now deceased Tom Patrick, longtime head botanist for Georgia Department of Natural Resources. The tight congested growth forms a natural bonsai, clothed in semi-evergreen narrow green leaves. In early June, the plants are adorned with a stunning pollinator-laden floral show of clusters of white racemes. Cyrilla 'Tom Patrick' hasn't been cultivated long enough to know a mature size, but we guess 5' tall x 5' wide.
