Plant Delights/JLBG were thrilled to introduce this amazing compact form of the southeast US (Delaware south to Florida) native small tree, Cyrilla racemiflora in 2021. Cyrilla 'Tom Patrick' was discovered as a witches broom mutation by Ron Determann of the Atlanta Botanical Garden and the now deceased Tom Patrick, longtime head botanist for Georgia Department of Natural Resources. The tight congested growth forms a natural bonsai, clothed in semi-evergreen narrow green leaves. In early June, the plants are adorned with a stunning pollinator-laden floral show of clusters of white racemes. Cyrilla 'Tom Patrick' hasn't been cultivated long enough to know a mature size, but we guess 5' tall x 5' wide.
