Cyclamen graecum ssp. graecum is a rarely-grown cyclamen species that is one of our favorites. Cyclamen graecum is a bit more tricky and less vigorous than Cyclamen hederifolium, so don't make this species your first attempt with hardy cyclamen. The velvety-appearing foliage contains some of the most striking patterns and vivid color combinations found in the entire genus. In late summer and fall, the tiny clumps are topped with flowers of red, pink, rose, or white...rising just above the foliage. Cyclamen graecum prefers a sunnier site than most other cyclamen species. This is a variable species with a wild distribution in Greece, Crete, Turkey, and Cyprus on screes and other rocky sites.
