Crinum x worsleyi 'Garden Party' is a little-known but wonderful crinum hybrid from the late plant breeder Dr. Thad Howard. Crinum 'Garden Party' is a cross of Crinum moorei v. schmidtii and Thad's own hybrid, Crinum 'Carnival' (Crinum bulbispermum x (Crinum scabrum x Crinum bulbispermum)). For us, Crinum 'Garden Party' makes a clump of wide, glossy green leaves topped, starting in June, with 3' stalks ending in clusters of lightly fragrant, deep pink flowers, each highlighted by a darker pink stripe down each petal. As with all crinums, they will grow and flower better if the soil stays a bit moist.
