This smaller stature crinum has performed quite well in our climate, especially when given light shade during the heat of the day. The wide tropical-looking glossy green foliage makes a short rosette, topped in late May and early June with wide bell-shaped lightly fragrant pure white flowers. According to bulb guru Scott Ogden, C. moorei may go dormant in mid-summer, then resume growth in the fall. Here in NC, growth continues all summer.
