Crinum 'Liberty Bells' is a superb introduction from the late Marcelle Sheppard introduction of a cross of Crinum bulbispermum 'Jumbo' x Crinum scabrum 'Rose City Schoolhouse'. The fountain of large, glossy green foliage is topped with 42" tall stalks of flowers which start for us in mid-May. The widely-flaring tubular flowers are white with a dramatic burgundy stripe down the center of each petal, and saturated burgundy red on the petal back. Like many human body parts, the flowers emerge horizontal before becoming pendent as they age. Crinum 'Liberty Bells' multiplies and flowers very well.
