Crinum 'Fourth of July' is a rarely-offered clone of Crinum x baconi (Crinum americanum x Crinum zeylanicum). The dark green leaves are topped in August and September (NC) with 3' stalks that first reveal themselves as maroon-red buds before opening as large, exceedingly fragrant flowers with red-striped centers and contrasting white edges...nicely vigorous and it goes without saying that any plant with bacon in its name must be good.
