If you're frustrated trying to grow the blue and purple flowered corydalis, be so no more. To the rescue comes Corydalis linstowiana from the mountainous regions of Sichuan, China. This amazing little plant makes a fast growing 1' wide clump of light green leaves with a mid-vein of silver. For us, the clumps start flowering in the fall, stop for the winter, and pick up again in spring. C. linstowiana is actually a biennial, but it seeds prolifically nearby the parent clump, so the effect is indeed perennial. The flowers are a delightful blue-purple...just what you've been looking for. Don't plant this too close to tiny choice gems, as they may get overtaken by the abundance of seedlings.
