xLeucocolocasia 'Black Goblet' is a new elephant ear hybrid from Hans Hansen's work at Walters Gardens, resulting from a cross of Colocasia esculenta and Leucocasia (formerly Colocasia) gigantea. xLeucocolocasia 'Black Goblet' forms a 5.5' tall x 4' wide tight clump, composed of dark black leaves that are cupped to hold water during rain events. In our trials, x Leucocolocasia 'Black Goblet' has survived winter temps of 7-9 degrees F, but is late to return and rarely exceeds 3' in height after a cold winter in the ground.
