Colocasia 'Waikiki' is a 2022 Plant Delights/JLBG introduction of a new John Cho hybrid, that is probably the most unique and dazzling elephant ear we've grown to date. Our plants of Colocasia 'Waikiki' mature at 3.5' tall x 5' wide with corrugated green leaves which emerge with a dark back. As the back changes from purple to green, the leaf front develops a wide central white pattern with a purple dot. The purple overlay quickly expands over the white and then flows into the veins. By the time the leaf matures, the central pattern and veins are entirely purple. For us, it takes two seasons for the plant to show it's mature beauty. Colocasia 'Waikiki' is an exquisite specimen that must be grown to be believed. Bright sun and moist soil are best in humid climates.
