Clematis 'Sweet Summer Love' is the latest breakthrough hybrid from the mecca of clematis breeding, Poland. This Szczepan Marczynski (who stole the d*mn vowels?) introduction is the first cross, that we're aware of, using the floriferous and vigorous white-flowered Clematis terniflora (C. paniculata), while adding purple pigment from one of the more typical clematis hybrids. Clematis 'Sweet Summer Love' is quite extraordinary, producing thousands of mid-sized fragrant flowers throughout the summer on a 12' vine.
