We trialed this dwarf rock garden-sized Campanula carpatica hybrid, knowing our heat and humidity would kill it in three notes...I mean weeks. Instead, Campanula 'Samantha' began flowering in June and continued steadily through July, with a few scattered flowers later in the summer. The small, tight, 3" tall x 15" wide clumps of tiny round green leaves are topped with masses of 6" spikes of 1" blue-purple upfacing flowers. If you're out in the garden crawling around on your knees or trying to upright yourself after a drunken spill, you'll enjoy the delightfully fragrant flowers. C. 'Samantha' was named by Diana Reeck of Collectors Nursery after her granddaughter.
