Calopogon 'Fluffy', no relation to Fluffy Iglesias, is a 2003 Carson Whitlow hybrid seed strain of two native terrestrial orchid species...Calopogon tuberosus, a widespread Eastern North America native, and the Southeastern US coastal native, Calopogon multiflorus. The 10" tall stalks are topped with a spike of lavender pink, upside-down appearing flowers, starting in late April (NC). We grow Calopogon 'Fluffy' with pitcher plants in a sunny peat bog, where they thrive. This is a very limited offering and it will likely be years before it reappears in our catalog.
