Beschorneria yuccoides is one of our favorite false red yuccas but, unfortunately, it's not reliably winter hardy for us. Where it can be grown in the ground, Beschorneria yuccoides makes an incredibly architectural 2' tall x 4' wide specimen with arching, glaucous evergreen leaves. When mature the clumps are topped with a ginormous flower bud that opens to 6' tall reddish-pink panicles of terminal flowers. Beschorneria yuccoides becomes deciduous at temperatures below 15 degrees F. In colder climates, Beschorneria yuccoides makes a superb mixed container centerpiece.
