Aucuba japonica 'Picturata' is a popular, but hard-to-find selection of the wonderful evergreen shrub aucuba. Aucuba 'Picturata' features a large golden blotch in the middle of each leaf, surrounded by small yellow speckles against the green background. The variegation pattern is somewhat unstable, so remove any shoots that don't have the yellow center. Aucuba 'Picturata' is a male selection, eventually reaching 5' tall.
