    Selected by plant-nut Ursula Herz of SC, here comes what many folks have been asking for...a vegetatively propagated form of Japanese painted fern...in other words, they are all identical. A. 'Ursula's Red' has a central stipe (stem to beginners) that becomes reddish toward the tip, with the red also running into the side leaves. The leaves are a nice silver color, fading to green where they attach to the stipe. This cultivar will work great where consistency in a mass planting is required...a great woodland accent specimen.
