    This recent aster selection was made by Lynn Caton, from the breeding program of the late Ed Wood of Portland and makes a stunning, compact clump of clean, dark-green foliage, topped in August and September with sprays of medium-blue flowers with yellow centers. A. 'Wood's Blue' is best used in the front of the border or as an edging plant.
