Asarum porphyronotum var. atrovirens 'Internet' is a 2018 Plant Delights/JLBG introduction of our second selection of the little-known evergreen wild ginger from Sichuan, China. Asarum 'Internet' forms a 6" tall x 2' wide patch of slowly stoloniferous, very thick rhizomes. From these emerge large 6" long matte-finished, textured medium green leaves, each highlighted by a silvery green netting pattern that follows the leaf veins. The drought-tolerant, vigorous clumps are adorned in late February/early March (NC) with silver dollar-sized, heavily textured purple black flowers with a white spotted central eye zone...amazing. It's taken us seventeen years to build up enough stock to share, so it will be many years before we have enough to offer this again.
