Asarum minus 'Heart Throb' is our 2022 introduction of a 1999 collection we made in Randolph County, NC, where the leaf patterns on a population of the evergreen Southeast native Asarum minus were some of the best we've seen. Our selection, Asarum 'Heart Throb' forms a tight clump of mostly silver leaves, edged in dark green and with a central green pattern. In March (NC), you'll find clusters of purple and tan spotted flowers at the base of the foliage. Asarum minus 'Heart Throb' is very easy to grow in typical woodland garden conditions, as long as it gets some summer heat.
