This exciting new introduction, after a decade of breeding by Texas plant guru, Greg Grant, is a seed strain derived from a series of crosses between the southern US natives, A. canadensis and A. chrysantha var. hinkleyana 'Texas Gold'. The result is an extremely heat tolerant columbine with the larger size of A. chrysantha, but with the red and yellow coloration found in A. canadensis.
