Here is a rare blue star for collectors who love rare US natives. This blue star is native to Texas, Arizona, and New Mexico. Each 18" clump is adorned with narrow hirtellous leaves. Okay, so you are wondering about the meaning of hirtellous aren't you? Hirtellous means covered with small hairs...so there. In early spring, the clumps are topped with light blue flowers that hover just above the foliage.
