(incorrectly listed as A. c.var. filifera) This rare southeast US native, found only in south central Georgia is a vertically challenged form of blue star. This sandhills native, introduced by Woodlanders Nursery, has soft green needle-like foliage clothing the prostrate stems. We have ours in the rock garden, where it makes a dazzling mat to 3' in width... deciduous in winter, but returning in spring with clusters of pale blue flowers at the tip of each branch... HOLY COW!
