(aka: A. nanus, A. Special form) Amorphophallus konjac 'Yunnan Dwarf' is a little-known selection that was never officially released, and only acquired by a few select people, who knew the secret, Freemason-like handshake and password. It was originally published in 1998 by Dr. Li Heng as Amorphophallus nanus, a Yunnan endemic, but was quickly realized by collectors to simply be a dwarf, natural variation of Amorphophallus konjac, but with a more dissected leaf and compact 2' tall stature. The flower stalk, which opens in early May, is typical for Amorphophallus konjac, except for a lighter spathe coloration. We expect this is world's first commercial offering, originating from the late Alan Galloway's collection.
